The leather used in the bags Bear manufactures comes from India. The cows there live outdoors year-round and live more or less in the wild. Due to these conditions, the cows’ hides often have a well-worn character, which is also reflected in the bags. Every Bear Design bag is unique. Bear Design’s leather is largely tanned using organic methods. After the tanning process, the leather is treated with wax and oil. This yields the distinctive colors and provides the leather with good protection against water. The leather is of a beautiful and supple quality.

To ensure your bag lasts even longer, we recommend treating it with beeswax or leather conditioner over time to refresh the leather’s texture. If you treat the leather with beeswax, it may darken slightly; if you’d prefer to avoid this, use leather conditioner instead. Proper care of your bag contributes to the durability of Bear’s bags.
