Care Instructions by Leather Type

Smooth Leather – Basic, FR, Andora & Roma Collections

Products made from smooth, dyed leather require little maintenance. The bags and wallets are crafted from full-grain leather with a solid, glossy or matte finish. We recommend wiping the products down once or twice a year with a dry to slightly damp cloth. If you want to revive the color of your bag or wallet or refresh dried-out spots, it’s best to lightly treat the product with leather conditioner.

Washed leather – Cow-Lavato & Milano-Justo collection

Products made of smooth, dyed leather require little maintenance. The bags and wallets are crafted from open-grain leather with a weathered, vintage look. We recommend wiping the products down once or twice a year with a dry to slightly damp cloth. If you want to revive the color of your bag or wallet or refresh dried-out spots, it’s best to lightly treat the product with leather conditioner.

Waxed leather – Callisto-Pelle collection

Waxed leather products require little maintenance. The bags and wallets are made from open-grain, solid-colored leather finished with a light wax coating. We recommend wiping the products down once or twice a year with a dry to slightly damp cloth. If you want to revive the color of your bag or wallet or refresh dried-out areas, it’s best to lightly treat the product with leather conditioner.

Oiled leather – Dark Nature, Vegas, and By Maaike collections

Oiled leather products require little attention, as the leather has already been treated with oil. At first, this leather feels very stiff, but over time it becomes more supple and develops its own unique look. This leather, as it were, comes to life and looks its best when you simply leave it alone. Large stains are best treated with a dry to slightly damp cloth.

Leather with fur – Cow Collection

For some products, we’ve chosen to leave the fur attached to the leather. The result is a bag or wallet with wonderfully soft cowhide fur. No two products are alike due to the varying fur patterns. With use, this cowhide may wear down, and heavy friction can even cause bald spots. To prevent this, we recommend spraying the fur with a protective spray and exposing it to friction as little as possible. In short, do not carry a bag or wallet with the fur facing outward, as this causes the leather to rub against clothing. Do you have a stain on the fur? Then gently clean it with a damp cloth. Do not use chemicals or other harsh agents, and do not grease the fur—this will only have the opposite effect.
